The 5-Min Video Challenge: Connecting Lives is a regional video contest held in Singtel Group's markets across Asia, Africa and Australia. From industry veterans to budding film-makers to just anyone who owns a recording device, the challenge creates a platform for everyone who believes great content has the power to unite people across different continents.

The 5-Min Video Challenge is a new contest, introduced in 2016 to challenge the creativity and thoughts of our participants in their interpretation of “Connecting Lives”. We aim to work with the most talented minds from the region to create rich variety of original contents based on the theme.
This challenge also provided participants with an opportunity to engage audience on an international platform, amplifying their skills and contributing to their portfolio of work, all while competing for the grand prizes. Having worked in television for 8 years, Aaron began as a video producer for Australia’s leading television company before moving to Fox Sports. He spent time at Fox across multiple roles specialising in live sporting content and is now with Optus as their Supervising Content Producer across their exclusive sport portfolio. Aaron is passionate about grass root initiatives with a particular interest the emergence of short form content.
Serge Abessolo
Humorist, songwriter, he wrote his first comedy sketch in 1993. "Serge Abess" excels since then in a humorous register, preppy, for the better and for the laughter. Between parodies, imitations and crazy derision, he has forged a reputation that eventually crossed the borders of the country.
Author of about sixty one man shows around the world, he also leads a career as a film actor with so far: 5 feature films, 1 short film and 5 tv series.
Joko Anwar
As one of Indonesia’s most popular filmmakers, Joko has earned critical and commercial success for his dark thrillers, ‘Kala’, ‘The Forbidden Door’ and ‘Ritual’. His film ‘Arisan’ also received numerous awards at the Indonesian Film Festival (2005) and MTV Indonesia Movie Awards (2004).
His psychological thriller ‘Forbidden Door’ (2009) has been screened at film festivals around the world including The Times BFI London Film Festival, International Film Festival Rotterdam and New York Asian Film Festival.
Quark Henares is a multi-awarded filmmaker known for having written and directed feature films such as My Candidate, Rakenrol and Keka. He also created the cult TV series Rakista for TV5 and has helmed music videos for everyone from Gary V. to Sandwich to Taken by Cars. When he isn't filming he's also a musician, columnist, DJ, entrepreneur and professor at the Ateneo de Manila University. He is currently the head of Globe Studios, the film and television arm of Globe Telecom.
A Cultural Medallion recipient, Khoo is recognized as the first Singaporean to have his films invited to major film festivals including Berlin, Venice and Cannes. His notable films include his debut Mee Pok Man (1995) and 12 Storeys (1997) among many others. 12 Storeys was the first Singaporean film to compete for the prestigious Cannes Palme d’Or. Khoo was awarded the Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French Minister of Culture in 2008 for his contribution to the arts, and has been jury for multiple international film festivals.
Thitipong Kerdtongtawee
Thitipong Kerdtongtawee founded his company, Hello Filmmaker, when he was still in university. He was launched into the limelight when his music video, ‘Khor’, went viral within a day of launching. Since then, Thitipong has had a track record of creating social media videos that set the trends and move hearts.
